Heidi Bridges: Science Teacher/College and Career Counselor

My name is Mrs. Bridges and I am the science teacher as well as the college and careers counselor at San Diego Virtual School. I have a single subject credential in Environmental Science from UC Santa Barbara, a teaching credential from the University of Maine at Orono, and a college and career counseling certificate from UC San Diego. I love being a teacher and partnering with my students in their educational journey.

Andrea Gardner: Science Teacher

My name is Andrea Gardner and I am a science teacher at San Diego Virtual School.

I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. During my years in Maryland I had the opportunity to study the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. From there, I moved to California and obtained my Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Biological Sciences from National University in San Diego. Once I began my teaching career, I obtained my Masters of Education in Cross Cultural Education from National University. I have taught both Middle School and High School for 14 years in Hawaii, Virginia, and California.

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband is in the Navy, which has kept us on our toes for the last 13 years. We have young 4 children: Kai, Brady (high functioning autistic), Eva, and Jonathan. We also have a 3 year old husky named Koda.

An interesting fact about me is that I play the drums and due to my childhood obsession with the band, Metallica, I prefer to play hard rock/metal rock.

Send us a message if you have any questions about our teachers or our high school science courses online. We’ll help you understand all the academic standards that need to be met for your child while pairing him or her up with a teacher that best meets their needs and learning style.

Enjoy the Flexibility of an Online High School

San Diego Virtual School is an online school that promotes flexibility to allow students with different backgrounds and families with unique lifestyles to attend school in a manner that fits with their schedule. Online schools and online courses has been growing in popularity for the flexibility that they provide.

When a student visits a traditional high school they are restricted to the hours that the school sets, while an online high school (like San Diego Virtual School) allows a student to pick when they choose to study and where. Students do not need to be present at the school in order to get the same education as their peers. Teachers are available both online and at the school itself to provide education and teaching in a manner that best meets each student’s needs.
