HOW TO PREPARE FOR COLLEGE WITH SDVS

San Diego Virtual School prepares all of our students for the next phase of their education journey. If you plan on attending a traditional 4-year college, a trade school, business school or other post-high school institution, SDVS will provide you with the tools needed to prepare for, and excel in, higher education.

  • Throughout the year our counseling team hosts a wide range of webinars and workshops to prepare students for their post-secondary plans. Counselors work individually with each graduate to ensure they are prepared for life after high school. SDVS students can the chance to tour community colleges and universities across San Diego County.

Exploring the Different Paths to an Undergraduate Degree

If you are interested in earning your undergraduate degree (aka Bachelor's degree) there are two different paths to get there.  

  • You can attend a community college and complete all your general education requirements and then apply to transfer to a California State University or a University of California school to complete your final 2 years of college.
    • I want to start at a Community College & then transfer to a 4 year university 
       
  • You may apply directly to a 4 year college or university and upon graduation you will have earned either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree depending on your major. 
    • I want to go directly to a 4 year university
